Organized and coordinated computer support for CLSP's research activities, including:

Support and planning for yearly 6-8 week workshops (Large Vocabulary Continuous Speech Recognition (LVCSR) Workshop (WS95 thru WS03)), including bidding, purchasing, budgeting, installation, maintenance, administration and design, installation and operation of the WorkShop Lab (30 desks with networked computers in a single room.)

Interviewed, hired, trained and supervised staff, including two workers. Also managed an additional three graduate students to provide 16/7 (16 hours per day, 7 days a week) user and help desk support during the workshop. Provided Help Desk support for professors, students, staff, visiting lecturers, etc, as well as services to accommodate blind workshop participants.

Software Technology Inc./Telos Corp. System Administrator for Alliant VFX80 Parallel Processing Supercomputer networked with Silicon Graphics Iris (4d/30), Sun SparcStations, Digital Equipment Corp (DEC) Station 5000, MAC II (AUX) and VAX system. Systems account administration, maintenance, repair, backup and archival. Designed and assembled rack-mounted video center with Lyon Lamb RTC, Panasonic laser disk recorders and players, monitors, switchers and other video equipment. This position required Secret Clearance. Also ported programs from Digital Equipment Corp. (DEC) VAX VMS to Sun Microsystems SUN-OS. Using ANSI Standard C with XII and Motif, added functionality and maintained code compatibility for both platforms.

7/89 - 3/90  Software Engineer, Unisys Corp, Salt Lake City, UT.
Desktop III team member. Wrote, verified and ran test suite programs using MS-DOS 4.1 and SCO UNIX 3.2. Compiler verification of Ada, Basic, C, Fortran, XII Windows for Compliance Matrix for the successful $700 million Desktop III contract bid with the US Dept. of Defense. Direct contact with vendors and OEM companies to debug compilers.

2/86 - 11/88  Senior Programmer, High Yield Management Securities Inc., Clifton, NJ.
System Administration responsibilities. Designed and installed automated order entry, transaction logging with audit trail and accounting systems, integrated with reports processor from relational database and word processing high-volume spooled printing system. Remote systems integration and trouble shooting for clients in 35 states (on private wide-area network), requiring travel or solving problems by phone or online. Other responsibilities included systems maintenance, repair, backup and archival. Wrote instruction manuals, documentation and taught computer usage.

1/83 - 9/84 Scientific Database Consultant, Associated Scientists of Woods Hole, Woods Hole, MA.
Designed, created and implemented relational databases. Linked computers for data updating, file conversion and data transfers. Created reports and graphs for statistical analysis. Recommended, selected and purchased computer equipment & peripherals.
